When designing the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for an app and website dedicated to a food waste project we looked to intertwine functionality, aesthetics, and empathy. Beginning with in-depth research into user behaviors and needs surrounding food waste management, we mapped out user journeys and wireframes to establish the structural backbone of the platforms. Clear and intuitive navigation is key, allowing users to effortlessly access features such as food donation scheduling, inventory tracking, and educational resources.

Visual design elements are thoughtfully curated to convey the project's mission of sustainability and encourage user engagement, employing vibrant imagery, digestible infographics, and compelling calls to action. Accessibility considerations are paramount, ensuring that the interfaces are inclusive and usable for individuals of all abilities. Through iterative prototyping and user testing, the UI and UX are refined to optimize usability, efficiency, and delight. By prioritizing user needs and seamless interaction, the app and website become invaluable tools in empowering individuals and communities to combat food waste effectively and enact positive change.
